With the successful results obtained in recent years, hair transplantation has started to be preferred frequently by men who have hair loss or baldness problems. Hair transplantation operations are widely applied in cases such as hair loss, a new hairline, forehead narrowing, and thinning of hair over time.

The methods used in hair transplantation from past to present are respectively; FUT, FUE, and DHI are methods. Although the FUT method is not preferred today, FUE and DHI are the most used methods. For those who want to have hair transplantation, one of these methods is selected in the analysis made by the hair transplantation brands, and an operation plan is created. However, in some hair loss types, these two methods are insufficient. The “FI Method” is applied for people who have both a large baldness area and thinning in the hairy area.

Classical Hair Transplantation Techniques

The first method used in hair transplant operations is the FUT method. This procedure, which is performed by cutting the skin from the donor area and transferring it to the bald area, is the most primitive method in hair transplantation. Excessive incisions and scarring after the operation are the most obvious disadvantages of the FUT method.

FUE and DHI methods, which were developed after the FUT method, are the techniques currently used in hair transplantation.

The FUE method is the method of taking the roots from the donor area, where there are quality hair follicles (the stretchy part of the two earbuds), with devices called micromotors and placing them one by one into the channels opening to the bald area. FUE method is often preferred especially in large bald areas.

Recently, the FUE method has begun to leave its place in the Sapphire FUE method. In the FUE method, the canal process is done with metal slits, while in the Sapphire FUE process, the canals are opened with a pen with a precious metal called Sapphire.

The most obvious difference between Sapphire FUE and the classical FUE method is that the wounds heal faster and the hair gains a more natural appearance after the operation.

DHI method, together with the Sapphire FUE method, is one of the most preferred methods recently. In the DHI method, unlike the classical FUE, grooving is not performed.

The roots in the donor area are taken with the help of a micromotor, as in the Sapphire FUE method. Then, these roots are planted on the bald or sparse area by placing them at the tip of the special pens, without opening the canal. The DHI method is a method that can be easily applied without the need to shave the entire hair of the patient.

The DHI method is an ideal method to make the hair look denser, especially by filling the gaps between the sparse hairs called densification. It is more preferred than the FUE method in terms of not shaving the entire hair.

What is the FI Method? How Did It Come About?

Sapphire FUE method is generally applied to large bald areas by opening channels, while DHI method is a hair transplantation method used especially in tightening methods.

In hair transplantation procedures, it is not considered appropriate to transplant the hairy area. Re-channeling the hairy area and making the procedure adversely affect the existing hair. For this reason, it is necessary to be sensitive and careful when planting on the hairy area.

Since opening channels and planting in the hairy area will damage the existing hair follicles, the DHI method should be applied in sparse areas with this type of shedding.

Many patients who want a hair transplant have to choose one of two methods when they want to have a hair transplant. However, in some hair loss types, in addition to the large baldness area, thinning is also seen in the hairy area. To achieve a successful result in this type of hair loss, the hair transplant operation should not be performed with a single method, but with two different methods.

The simultaneous use of two different techniques, Sapphire FUE and DHI, during the operation is called the FI Technique. In hair transplantation surgeries where this technique is used, the Sapphire FUE method is used for large bald areas and the DHI method is used for thinning hairy areas. This method, where the most successful results are obtained by using both techniques at the same time, is the most up-to-date and newest technique in hair transplantation.

When Was the FI Method Discovered? Where is it done?

The FI Technique, the newest and most successful technique in hair transplantation, is a method applied only by Now Hair Time Hair Transplant Turkey all over the world.

Before the hair transplant operation, the patient's hair is examined during the consultation phase and an evaluation is made by the transplant specialist. After this evaluation, it is determined that the patient is suitable for the FUE or DHI method and the operation plan is made with a single method.

However, Sapphire FUE and DHI methods, which are frequently used in some hair loss, are not sufficient alone. Both methods should be used for successful hair transplantation, especially in the type of hair loss with extensive hair loss and sparseness in the hairy area.

Together with the FI Technique, successful results are obtained by using Sapphire FUE in large bald areas and the DHI method in thinning and gaps in the hairy part at the same time.
